1. Who are we?

Royalelocaties.nl is an online platform for finding and comparing event locations.

2. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your computer, tablet or phone. They are used to make the website work, to remember your preferences and to measure how the website is used.

This page sets out which cookies we use, what they are for and how long they remain.

3. Necessary cookies

These cookies are needed for the website to work. Without them, forms and signing in will not function.

  • royale-locaties-session — keeps track of what you do during your visit so that forms and signing in work. Expires 120 minutes after your last activity.

  • XSRF-TOKEN — protects forms against misuse by other websites. Lasts for the duration of your visit.

  • cookieyes-consent — stores the choice you make in the cookie notice, so we do not have to ask again on every visit. Lasts 365 days.

  • remember_web_… — keeps you signed in after you activate your account. Only placed if you use an account, and lasts up to 5 years.

4. Analytics cookies

To understand how visitors use our website, we keep website statistics. For this we use a single cookie:

  • _rlv — contains a randomly generated number that lets us recognise returning visits without knowing who you are. Lasts 730 days (2 years).

We measure this ourselves, with our own software on our own server. We do not share these statistics with advertisers and do not use them to follow you across other websites.

5. What we do not use

To be clear: this website carries no advertising cookies and no social media trackers. We do not use Google Analytics, nor a Facebook or Instagram pixel, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell data to third parties.

6. What we record about a visit

For our statistics we store the following per visit:

  • the pages you view and when you viewed them;

  • country, region and city at a broad level;

  • your browser, operating system and device type;

  • the website or search engine you came from, including any campaign parameters in the link.

We do not store your IP address. We keep only an irreversibly hashed value of it, which we cannot convert back to your IP address. Visits by our own administrators are not measured.

7. Storage in your browser

Besides cookies we use your browser's own storage. That is not a cookie: this data is not sent to us and stays on your device.

  • favorites — the locations you marked as a favourite, so you can find them again without an account.

  • favoritesRegisterPrompted — remembers whether we already asked you to create an account, so we do not keep repeating it.

This data disappears when you clear your browser data. If you create an account, we also store your favourites with us so you can find them on other devices.

8. Third-party cookies

On some parts of the website we use services from other parties. Those parties may place their own cookies or process data under their own policies:

  • Google Maps — on location pages we show a map with the location's whereabouts.

  • CookieYes — provides the cookie notice and stores your choice.

  • Cloudflare — protects and speeds up our website and may place technical cookies needed for security.

9. Changing your choice

You can make your choice about non-necessary cookies in the cookie notice on our website, and change it again later.

You can also refuse or delete cookies yourself at any time through your browser settings. Necessary cookies cannot be switched off, because the website will no longer work without them.

10. Deleting cookies

Every browser lets you delete existing cookies and block new ones under its privacy or security settings. How this works differs per browser; your browser's help pages explain the steps.

If you block all cookies, parts of our website may not work properly.

11. Personal data

What else we do with your data, and the rights you have, is set out in our privacy policy.

12. Changes

We may amend this cookie policy, for example when we add new features. The most recent version is always on this page, with the date of the last change at the top.
